Privacy Policy
Lockwords · Effective 15 June 2026
The short version: Lockwords does not ask you to sign in and does not collect your name, email, or contacts. Your scores and settings live on your own device. The only data leaving your device is what Google's advertising SDK needs to show ads — and you can manage that through the consent prompt and your device settings.
Who we are
Lockwords (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a word puzzle game. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. It applies to the Lockwords mobile app and this website.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally, on your device only, so the game remembers your progress between sessions:
- Your high scores and recent run results.
- Game settings (sound, music, and ad preferences).
- Gameplay bookkeeping such as which words you have already seen, used to vary future puzzles.
- Whether you have completed the how-to-play introduction.
This information is not transmitted to us and is not linked to your identity. Deleting the app, or using the “Reset all data” option in Settings, removes it.
Advertising
Lockwords shows occasional full-screen ads between rounds through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process limited information, including an advertising identifier, approximate (coarse) location derived from your IP address, and basic device and ad-interaction data. We do not receive or store this data ourselves.
Where required, the app shows a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are used. You can review or change your choice, and you can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device's settings.
Learn more about how Google uses this data: Google Privacy & Terms.
Network access
The app requests internet access for one purpose: loading and reporting ads through the advertising SDK described above. Gameplay itself runs entirely on your device.
Children
Lockwords is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Your choices
- Reset or delete all locally stored data from the in-app Settings.
- Reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
- Update your ad-consent choice when prompted.
- Uninstall the app to remove all on-device data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
